At Brighter Futures we want you to be part of our family that makes a difference to children and young people
Sometimes brother and sisters are split up into different foster homes as a placement for them all together in the same home cannot be found. This can have harmful and long term effects on the children. So at Brighter Futures Foster Care so we work hard to ensure that sibling groups stay together. It may be due to this that we receive so many requests from placing authorities for families for sibling groups of all ages.
To Foster Sibling groups you don’t necessarily need a large home as sibling are able to share rooms in certain circumstance. In our experience sibling groups also come in all shapes and sizes from 2 children upwards. We currently have one sibling group of 5 children placed together in the same home. As a rule usually the larger the sibling group the harder it is to keep them together which is why we are actively recruiting new and experienced carers to help us meet this need.
If you are interested in providing a home for a sibling groups we would love to have a chat with you. Feel free to call us on 0800 882 4402 or submit an on line application and we’ll get back in touch with you.
You are the foster parent, but together we are the professional team around the child you are looking after.
We don’t want to see siblings separated who need to stay together. A lot of our children are siblings and some of our carers have sibling groups of four children. They say they are never bored.Read more
